Department of Soft Things is a small seasonal clothing project operated from California, United States. This page covers the website at departmentofsoftthings.com and purchases made through our Printify Pop-Up checkout.

What we collect

If you only browse the site, we get the usual server logs: pages viewed, device type, and approximate location. We do not run an account system on this site.

If you buy a shirt, checkout happens on Printify. Printify and its payment processor (Stripe) collect the name, email, shipping address, and payment details needed to take the order, print it, and ship it. We do not see or store your full card number.

Ads and cookies

If we run ads on Meta (Facebook or Instagram), a tracking pixel may record visits, product views, and completed checkouts so we can tell whether an ad led to a sale. You can limit this in your device or Facebook ads settings. We do not sell your information.

Who else sees it

Printify, the print provider, the shipper, Stripe, and the advertising platforms we use. That is the list. We also use Instagram and TikTok as public channels; anything you send there is under those companies’ rules.

How long

Order records stay as long as Printify keeps them for production, shipping, refunds, and tax. Server logs are not kept as a mailing list. There is no newsletter wired up yet.
